Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday contributed a month’s salary towards cyclone relief operations that are underway in central districts of the State that were ravaged by Cyclone Gaja on November 16.

The Governor toured Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Thanjavur districts to comfort the people in the cyclone-affected areas. He “saw for himself the hardship faced by the people”, an official release from the Raj Bhavan stated.

To help in alleviate sufferings of the people and to assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts, the Governor has contributed his salary for November 2018 to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, meant for calamity relief operations, the official release added.
