President Ram Nath Kovind, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, awarded the Prestigious Presidential Colours’ to the Submarine Arm of the Indian Navy today at Eastern Naval Command headquarters in Visakhapatnam.

Addressing the officials and dignitaries at the colourful ceremony organized on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, the President said, country's maritime interests are directly linked to its economy and security.

Our correspondent reports that Presidential colours was awarded by the President amidst traditional parade as recognition to Indian Navy’s meritorious services.
